The Maffra and District Car Club was formed in March 1966 and began work on it's hillclimb at Boisdale in the foothills behind Maffra.

The first hillclimb at Boisdale was on August 31st, 1968.

Boisdale Hillclimb continues to be the club's main focus but club members also participate in other motor sport events, such as circuit racing, sprint meetings and hillclimbs at other venues.

Monthly meetings are well attended and the strong membership includes many juniors 14-18 years who also enjoy their strong junior class at Boisdale

Boisdale Hillclimb is a purpose built gravel surfaced hillclimb of track length 710 metres (short track) in a bush setting. There is also an additional loop that starts below Kiosk Corner making a track length of 980 metres. Other fixed facilities at Boisdale include a control tower for communication and computer timing, kiosk/shelter, modern toilet block, fenced playground, pits, spectator area lighting and spectator area lighting and spectator safety fences. The club runs six hillclimbs a year at Boisdale as part of it's club championship and an additional event for Super Series Autocross.
